The Project Prototype debuts during Washington University's 150th Birthday Celebration.
The American Lives Project is a new resource for cultural inquiry that allows users to build connections and identify differences between materials. The project incorporates oral histories, historical documents, artifacts, sound and visual media into an online collection. By utilizing unique computing technologies that allow overlapping searches and wide-ranging explorations of materials not typically linked to one author, the project promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of culture and provides the multiple perspectives that work requires.
